Integrity
Have scientific integrity when doing research to be as objective and unbiased as possible. Have the professional integrity to both own up to your mistakes and call out malpractice of others.
-
Diversity
Respect everyone regardless of race, language, religion, nationality, gender or sexual orientation. There is no scientific hierarchy in our lab - all researchers are encouraged to voice their scientific opinion and debate it vigorously.
-
Teamwork
We believe in having a collegial atmosphere, where people are happy to help and support one another.
-
Independence
We believe in providing the opportunity for our researchers to take charge of the entire pipeline for their project (e.g. DNA cloning to protein purification to building the atomic model). You do not have to become an expert in all area; the aim is to at least gain an appreciation into all facets of the science you do.
-
Specialisation
Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. We believe in developing the strengths of individuals. It could be cell culture, coding or microscope data collection - digging deep and specialising in your area of interest benefits not only the researcher, but also the lab at large.
